You see her everywhere, in Beyonce’s videoclips to cooking shows on youtube or Burberry and other fashion runways! She is Jourdan Dunn. Read this interview for some beauty and fashion tips, plus how to be healthy…
How is it being a Maybelline spokesmodel?
I have always said I wanted a Maybelline contract, and now being part of such an iconic brand is a dream come true. I used to watch the ads, and I used to say I want to be that woman, I want to be Adriana, running the streets of New york with great lashes. It is really a dream come true.
It’s kind of surreal, from watching the commercials to shooting them it’s crazy!

How do you take care of your skin?
I make sure I clean my skin and I use a toner and a moisturizer . This is just like food for the first layer for the skin. You also have to have a good diet, drink a lot of water. I like to eat healthy food with a lot of green leafy vegetables like Kale; salmon is good for your skin, and so is kale and spinach.
What are you favourite beauty products?
Maybelline has such a great collections of mascaras. I always have them in my bag. I think my first mascara was Great Lash by Maybelline. Now I use Falsies, Big Eyes, because it has 2 wands, one for the upper lashes, and one for the lower lashes. And then also the great lash mascara that I use for my eyebrows. My eyebrows are thick, but I use this to keep them into place. Then the nude palette eyeshadow is amazing, it has a lot of nude shades, and at the back of the package it shows you how to apply them all. What you put on the crease, etc.. All the stuff I didn’t really know. It’s very handy.
Do you usually wear make up?
I have to be practical about it, I have a son, so I don’t have time to think about a full face of make up. I would just put on mascara, and a nude lipstick, and I am good to go.
Are you good with the eyeliner?
There is always one eye that is a little different than the other! But I love the Master Precise eyeliner, it’s easy to glide on; but you need to practice.
Do you like shopping?
I love shopping.
Where do you like to shop?
New york is a great city to shop, and London as well. But personally I love online shopping. I like to be in the comfort of my hotel room or my home, or on my ipad, looking at Net A Porter, Matchies, Topshop, Browns.. and get it done.
You don’t have to think about what you’re going to wear to go shopping, or getting your make up done, you’re just in your house, with a tracksuit. It’s a quiet addiction actually.
Who are your favourite designers?
Alexander Wang, Altuzarra (and I love Altuzarra shoes), Stella McCartney, and also topshop is amazing, H&M designer studios are amazing too; I like to mix and match.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I just like to realx, turn my phone off. My phone is a big distraction. I will either be on my email, or instagram. I like to put it away and relax with my son. He’s the person I miss so much when I am away, so I just want to spend some time with him and play.
How do you spend your time with your son?
He is a typical boy, he likes to do imagination fights with the good guys and the bad guys, and he likes to play video games, and Mario, which is fun for me, because I used to pay with these games too when I was young.
Any good tip for busy moms?
I don’t really have time for make up, so I have lash extensions, once I have my lashes there, they last 2 to 3 months, so I wake up and I look ok; I can take my son to school and I don’t really need my make up to be done, not even for a night out. With the lash extensions, my eyes are already done, so that helps.
What do you keep in your bag?
Today I have a #Moschino handbag; it’s big enough, and it’s cute and cool and quircky. I have my ipad, a clear Maybelline mascara, Maybelline wipes to take off my make up after the shoots, my headphones, my charger… You defineitely have to have a charger with you.

بين خشبات العروض والأمومة
Jourdan Dunn، لم تعتقد يوماً أنّ حلمها قد يتحقّق
شاركت العارضة البريطانيّة Jourdan Dunn في عروض أهمّ دور الأزياء، وتمّ اختيارها أكثر من مرّة كأفضل عارضة، كما كانت الوجه الإعلاني لعدّة علامات تجاريّة مثل Burberry وBalmain وYves Saint Lauren وغيرها. قابلتها خلال أسبوع الموضة في نيويورك، وتحدّثنا عن حياتها العمليّة والعائليّة، وعن أحلامها وعن ابنها رايلي، الذي اكتشفت فيما بعد أنّه مصاب منذ ولادته بمرض فقر الدم المنجلي، مما دفعها للمشاركة في عدّة أعمال خيريّة لنشر التوعية عن هذا المرض.
منذ صغرها، تشاهد دان إعلانات مستحضرات التجميل الشهيرة، وتحلم بأن تكون هي نفسها هذه الفتاة على شاشة التلفزيون وفي المجلات، وتقول: “أردت أن أكون أدريانا… أن أركض في شوارع نيويورك بالرموش الطويلة الجذّابة“… لكنّ دان لم تعتقد يوماً أنّ حلمها هذا قد يتحقق! فهي اليوم الوجه الإعلاني لمستحضرات Maybelline NY. وبالرغم من صغر سنّها، فهي تعمل منذ سنوات عديدة، وتساعدها والدتها في تربية ابنها كلّ ما توجّب عليها السفر. ماذا تحبّ أيضاً؟ الطهو! فهي تقدّم برنامجاً للطهو على محطّة JayZ على يوتيوب تستضيف فيه المشاهير.

نهاري…. هذا الموسم لم أشارك في العروض، بل كنت أصوّر الإعلانات كلّ يوم، أستيقظ في الصباح وأتناول فطوري وأتوّجه إلى الاستديو حيث يهتم الخبراء بتسريحة شعري وماكياجي. وعندما أنتهي من التصوير، أعود إلى الفندق لأنام وأرتاح وأبدأ عملي من جديد في اليوم التالي.
أعتني ببشرتي… أحرص على تنظيف بشرتي، وأستخدم “التونيك” والمرطب للبشرة، ولكن هذا يساعد الطبقة السطحيّة من البشرة فقط، بينما الاهتمام بجمالك يجب أن يبدأ بالغذاء الصحي وشرب الماء بانتظام، فآكل الكثير من الخضار، والسلمون وخاصّة النبات بالأوراق الخضراء مثل السبانخ والكرنب.
ماكياجي… أعشق الماسكارا وأحملها دائما في حقيبتي. الماسكارا الأولى التي استخدمتها في حياتي كانت Great Lash من Maybelline. أما الآن فأنا أستخدم Falsies، وأحبّها لأن فيها ريشتين، ريشة للرموش العليا وأخرى للرموش السفلى. أمّا ماسكارا Great Lash، فأستخدمها على الحاجبين. كما أحبّ الباليت بالألوان الحياديّة، خاصّة أنّ نصائح استخدام الألوان فيها مطبوعة على العلبة، فهكذا أتعّلم تطبيقها وأجرّبها على العينين.
ماكياجي بعيداً عن العمل… أمضي وقتي مع ابني، فليس لديّ الوقت لتطبيق ماكياج كامل، أفضّل ما هو عمليّ. أستخدم الماسكارا وأحمر الشفاه بلون طبيعيّ فأصبح جاهزة بدقائق.
الآيلاينر… هناك دائماً عين تختلف عن الأخرى ومرسومة بطريقة مختلفة. هذه الأيام أستخدم Master Precise Liner، أطبّقه على العينين بسهولة. الاستخدام، ولكن لكون صريحة، تحتاج المرأة إلى الممارسة عدّة مرات ليصبح بإمكانها رسم العينين بالآيلاينر بطريقة متساوية.
شعري… قصصت شعري مؤخّراً، وكنت متوتّرة جدّاً لأّن الجميع يعرفني بشعري الطويل. هذه القصّة منحتني المزيد من الثقة بالنفس والشعور بالحريّة. كما منحتني إطلالة جديدة بأزياء مختلفة، فالأزياء التي أختارها بالشعر القصير مختلفة عن التي كنت أختارها بشعري الطويل.
الشوبينغ… نيويورك ولندن مدينتان رائعتان للتسوّق، ولكنّني شخصيّاً أفضل التسوق عبر الإنترنت. أحبّ أن أكون على راحتي في الفندق أو في المنزل، أستخدم الآيباد، وأستكشف ما تقدّمه مواقعي المفضّلة للتسوّق، مثل NetAPorter، و Matches وBrowns وTopshop. فهكذا أقوم بالتسوّق من دون أن أجهّز نفسي للخروج ومن دون ماكياج، بل بملابس الرياضة. والحقيقة، أعتقد أنني وصلت إلى حدّ الإدمان!
مصمّمون أحبّهم… أحبّ Alexander Wang وAltuzarra (خاصّة الأحذية)، وStella McCartney وكذلك Topshop وH&M. أحبّ أن أمزج أزيائي.
في أوقات فراغي… أحب الاسترخاء. أستغني عن هاتفي والإنستغرام والرسائل الالكترونيّة، وأمضي وقتي مع ابني. فعندما أكون بعيدة عنه أثناء العمل، أشتاق إليه كثيراً. أجلس وألعب معه.
ابني… مثل باقي الصبيان، يحب المعارك يبن “رجال الخير” و“رجال الشر“، فألعب معه بالشخصيّات الصغيرة، ونلعب ألعاب الكترونيّة مثل التي كنت أحبّها في صغري.
نصيحة جماليّة لكلّ أمّ… جرّبي الرموش المستعارة. أضع رموش إضافية ملصوقة في عينيّ تدوم من شهرين إلى 3 أشهر. عندما آخذ ابني إلى المدرسة في الصباح لا أحتاج إلى الماكياج. وحتى في الليل، عيناي دائماً جاهزتان ممّا يوفّر عليّ الكثير من الوقت.
في حقيبتي… حقيبة اليوم من موسكينو، وهي واسعة ومرحة، تتسّع للآيباد والماسكارا ومحارم لإزالة الماكياج من مايبللين والسمّاعات الموسيقيّة وشاحن لبطريّة الهاتف، فمن الضروري جدّاً أن أحمل معي دائماً شاحن للهاتف قبل الخروج!
