WE Design Beirut- A Celebration of Creativity, Design Innovation and Artisanal Heritage
If you are in Lebanon, or planning to visit soon, make sure to check out We Design Beirut, from October 27- 30.2023. We Design Beirut is a design event focusing on prominent and upcoming Lebanese architects and artisans in the fields of architecture, engineering, product design, furniture, functional art, ceramics, rugs, home accessories and everything in between.
The event aims to support, empower, protect and sustain local crafts and artisans through exhibitions, panel talks, pop up shops, installations and special projects taking place around the city, mainly at PSLab, Villa Mokbel, and Abroyan Factory, an old abandoned textile factory in the historical Bourj Hammoud.
We Design Beirut is founded by renowned Public Relations and Creative Events Executive Mariana Wehbe in partnership with Samer Alameen- a creator and industrial designer himself, and associate partner Bananamonkey creative agency.
We Design Beirut joins together major efforts of Lebanese women entrepreneurs who are making this event happen, and the We is “we the people who continue to have hope and continue to create in this insane chaotic city”- as told by Mariana.
“We Design Beirut embodies 3 important aspects: We Sustain working with upcoming generations, We Preserve our design scene and our designers, and We Empower our crafts and our craftsmen”, said Samer Alameen.
