My Diet with Krystel Abi Assi, Six Weeks Later

Six Weeks Later!

The last week of Ramadan was supposed to be a little tough. Krystel modified my diet plan a little so we could take advantage of the fact that I was fasting. Basically, she just removed the fruits, and reduced the number of days that I could have rice or potatoes from 3 times a week to twice a week. I was still able to have soup, fattouch (a Lebanese salad) with no bread of course, in addition to the main meal that consists of lean protein and a variety of vegetables, except for few ones (corn, beets, peas, carrots and grains..)
I could still have Ramadan special deserts twice a week with diet Ater (Syrup), and this time I did have them.

The first few days were fine. Then, I have to admit, the rest of the week, and one more week after that, it was a complete mess. I started good, but then I had to do an oral surgery. This meant I could not eat the proteins that I had to. I was not able to have the warm water with lemon and ginger slices. I was not able to have 3 meals a day, so sometimes I didn’t know what to eat, I simply skipped few meals.

It’s not that I ate junk food. I was kind of paying attention to what I was eating, but not exactly following Krystel’s plan.
I had one desert with no sugar one day because it was very soft. I had the veggie sugar free jello the first few days (this was allowed). I had Fatteh (a lebanese dish with soft chickpeas, bread and yogurt), and this was extremely delicious and soft to eat and refreshing, especially when you’re starving after surgery- but not allowed.
I think I also had 1 cup of jelleb with plenty of ice (so basically 1/3 of a cup). Then I was really enjoying Kafta with eggplants (so soft, and totally in my plan).
Then, one day, before I had to go see Krystel, I decided to eat figs. I see them everywhere; they are in season. So I planned to have some, and I had plenty instead of dinner one night, and just a few the day after. After all, figs have so many health benefits.. I also had few peaches that week (which was an allowed fruit the week before).

Well of course, Krystel was not thrilled at all to know that. She told me that during my diet, when I have sugar, I won’t loose weight. And if I have a lot of sugar, I will gain weight. She tried to be tough, and I know she was disappointed. Do I regret it? No. Guilt Free. I was in pain, starving after the surgery because I couldn’t eat.

Also that night, at the movies, I had popcorn, with salt, no sugar, no butter, instead of my dinner (ouch!)….

So you want to know the results??
Although I was on antibiotics, and I had few injections with cortisone during that week, I still managed to loose 2 kg which was not too bad; But guess what?? I lost 8 more cm from my waist, and 1 cm from the biceps and 5 cm from my thorax. Which makes it a total of 7 kg since I started 6 weeks ago, 19 cm from the waist, 5 from the biceps, and 9 cm from my thorax. I had to admit though that my tummy was not as flat as when I was following the plan, and I felt a little bloated, although I was not eating much.

Now, after surgery and all the medicines, Krystel put me under a strict diet, but only for 5 days… And gave me a new plan for the following five. And I am planning on strictly following the rules!

What I really liked during the month of Ramadan is that Krystel gave me 2 plans each time, one in case I am fasting and a second one if I was not, which made my life very easy even though I was fasting for mostly the whole month.

Did I feel hungry before the surgery? Not at all. Never hungry. I was not even having the snacks.

Am I satisfied? I am extremely happy. Although I still have a lot to loose, I could see my body changing. My jeans fit better, but still many dresses feel a little tight.

How many more kg to loose? I would love to loose around 8 to 10 kg more.

Am I going to cheat again? Not anytime soon, at least till the end of August 🙂

Seeing how my body is changing and knowing the results encourage me to go on with it. I have tried to loose weight so many times; I was eating healthy and exercising, never really followed any diet before (except for Weight Watchers for a couple of month years ago)… but I have never lost the weight I wanted to get rid of. Loosing it now in a healthy way feels so good! I am really excited! Thank you Krystel xxx
