Power, Play, and Killer Heels: Aquazzura's Edgardo Osorio Knows What Women Truly Want

Each time I check the latest Aquazzura collection, I’m not only excited by the stunning new designs but also by the breathtaking locations that bring them to life. And, of course, it’s always a true pleasure to connect with Aquazzura’s founder and talented Creative Director, Edgardo Osorio.

Edgardo draws inspiration from his travels, and if you follow him on social media, you’re treated to glimpses of his vibrant escapades and luxurious lifestyle. The Spring/Summer 2025 collection is inspired by the ocean—a place where he goes to reconnect and find rebirth. Another significant influence for this collection comes from Mexico, featuring intricate details crafted in collaboration with talented Mexican artisans. Osorio’s commitment to working directly with artisans reflects his passion for innovation and craftsmanship.

During our encounter in Milan, Osorio tells me about his one unique design aspect that is his hands-on approach; he prefers to sketch directly on the models' feet, using paper to bring his visions to life. He adds that innovation and seeking new technologies are always at the heart of Aquazzura, evident in the designs that push boundaries. One standout piece features crystals that appear to float…

Edgardo embodies a playful spirit in his work, expressing, “With everything going on in the world, I feel there is a need for fashion to be happy.” This joyful approach is apparent in every collection.

Founded in 2011, Aquazzura is more than just a luxury footwear brand; it’s a vision for a broader lifestyle and accessories line. If you happen to be in Rome, you can now sip your favourite drink in a signature Murano glass at the Aquazzura Bar inside Hotel de Russie. And while the brand continues to grow, its commitment to remain a private company and maintain an intimate identity remains strong.
