Red is still a huge trend we see on the runway, in all its different shades.. It became a classic colour.. Here is some advice from the most famous make up artists on how better to wear it!

Charlotte Willer for Maybelline:When you’re wearing red, if you don’t want red lipstick, you could go for dark smokey eyes, with a touch of colour in it. You could choose purple or blue or green, or even a touch of gold, and it would look amazing.
Val Garland for Mac Cosmetics: We asked her if red lips look good on red hair? “Absolutely, it’s mandatory. Redheads could wear red the best of all. Absolutely”…

Tom Pecheux for Estée Lauder:  Dark eyes look best and are sexy with red clothing.

Gregory Arlt for Mac Cosmetics: Best make up when you’re wearing red:
You could go in two directions. Keep the face a little neutral, but I prefer to see a little more on the eye.

Depending on your skin tone, dark brown eye pencil, or black and plum kind of pencil. Or go opposite direction. keep your eyes really clean, mascara, neutral colours, and wear red lips or red stain, you could match it up.. With everything minimal, red lips will look chic. but I really like to see a strong eye with a red outfit.

How to apply red lipstick: Val Garland from Mac Cosmetics— Don’t be shy!
“To apply red lipstick, use your lip liner to draw a good shape, and this will lock the colour into place.
I tend to favour a large lip brush, so you could apply the colour in the 3 steps. It’s easier to get the colour in with a larger brush. Put the colour in all over toward the edges.
Don’t be shy with red lips. start with your pencil first, so the colour glides easier on the lips. This is a good base for the colour.
Remember- Pigment goes on the hand before.

Tip form Val: Take a small mirror, put it under your lips to check if you put the colour all over.

Red is a generic lipstick that looks good on a lot of colours: Navy, brocade, burgundy, gold, black, red, etc…
