We heard about strobing, but what is exactly 4D strobing? Mac make Up artist Val Garland explains to us that it’s a dimensional make up that adds definition to your face, as if you have more muscles. Get the silver, red, gold and a peach strobe creams from Mac, mix them all together for a lovely warm athletic glow that melts into the skin and makes you look healthy. This doesn’t look like make up. This is a gym make up with lots of reflection on the skin.
Use the brows chubby pencil from Mac on your eyebrows, it’s like shadow for the brows, it’s soft, it blends quickly, and it’s a multi tasker! Add a little bit of it under the eyes.
Use a lip pencil with a velvet finish, with peach and cream effect, it’s called velvetees; they are very quick and easy to apply.
Q&A: Is strobing really a new thing?
Not really. Strobing is highlighting. We have been highlighting for so many years, and now it’s a trend. Even sculpting known today as contouring has been here for a long time with actresses. I wonder what comes next.
Tip: In the real world, less is more because you are in natural light. The problem with strobing and contouring is that we live in a world of selfies and retouching, that every body should look like a porn star. Be careful. It looks good on instagram, but not in the real world. If I look at you and I can see where you placed the make up, then the make up is wrong.
FYI: Highlighter gives more dimension to the skin and bones. On the body, it makes you look tighter, as if you had more muscles.
